Terms of Use and Sale

The terms for using emotionalcenter.org, and for buying assessments, debriefs and certification from the Center for Emotional Development. Last updated October 2026.

Who We Are

emotionalcenter.org is run by Organization and People Dynamics LLC, doing business as the Center for Emotional Development (“we”, “us”). Our address is P.O. Box 276, Hibernia, New Jersey 07842.

By using the site or placing an order, you agree to these terms.

Using the Site

The text, photographs and materials on this site belong to the Center or to the people who licensed them to us. You may read, print and share them for your own use. Please ask before you republish them.

Conversations with Dr. Hayles are booked through Book Like a Boss. A conversation does not make you a client and does not commit you to anything.

Not Professional Advice

The articles and resources on this site are general information. They are not medical, psychological, legal or financial advice, and coaching and assessments are not therapy.

Ordering and Payment

Prices are in US dollars, plus any applicable taxes, and Stripe processes every payment by card or digital wallet. Your order is confirmed when the payment succeeds: you see a confirmation page and get a confirmation email, and Dr. Hayles follows up by email with the details and next steps.

If your card is in another currency, your card issuer may charge conversion or foreign transaction fees. We do not control those fees.

We may refuse or cancel an order, for example if a price on the site is wrong or a cohort is already full. If we do, we refund what you paid in full.

What You Get and When

  • EQ-i 2.0® and EQ 360® assessments: we send your assessment link within 5 business days of payment. You complete the assessment on the MHS online platform. An EQ 360® report is ready 48 hours after the assessment is completed.
  • EQ 360® raters: you enter the names and email addresses of your raters on the MHS platform, and MHS sends them the invitation.
  • Private EQ Assessment Debrief: a 60–90 minute online session with Dr. Hayles about your report. We arrange the date with you by email once your results are ready.
  • EQ-i 2.0® + EQ 360® Certification: live online sessions on the Thursday and Friday of the cohort you choose.
  • Certification materials: we post them to the address you give at checkout, anywhere in the world, before the cohort starts. The Center pays shipping, and the buyer pays any duties and fees charged on arrival.

Buying More Than One Debrief

You can buy up to 10 debriefs in one order, for example for a team. Each debrief is for one assessed person. Tell us who will attend each one when we arrange the dates.

Cancellations and Refunds

Certification is refunded in full up to 30 days before the cohort starts, and moved to a later cohort after that.

Refunds go back to the card or wallet you paid with, through Stripe, within 10 business days of our agreement.

These terms do not take away any rights you have under the law where you live.

Certification Date Changes and Transfers

Places are limited, and a cohort closes when it is full.

You can move to a later cohort once, at no charge, if you tell us at least 14 days before your cohort starts.

You can transfer your place to a colleague at no charge before the cohort starts. Send us their name, email address, and postal address.

If we have to cancel or move a cohort, you choose between a place on another date and a full refund.

Intellectual Property

EQ-i 2.0® and EQ 360® are registered trademarks of Multi-Health Systems Inc. MHS owns the assessments, the reports and the platform.

Your report is for your own use. Certification materials are for the participant who bought them. Please do not copy or share them.

Limitation of Liability

We provide the site as it is. As far as the law allows, we are not liable for indirect losses from using it, and our liability for a purchase is limited to what you paid for it.

We are not responsible for delays or failures caused by events outside our reasonable control, such as outages at MHS or Stripe, or postal delays.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law does not allow us to limit, such as liability for fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York. Disputes go to the courts of Monroe County, New York.

If you are a consumer in the United Kingdom or the European Union, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws where you live, and you can bring a claim there.
